Back in January I made the fantastic decision to join a "Mommy & Me" group. Since that sunny afternoon picnic, there have been numerous playdates, park outings, restaurant meetings, and various adventures. Nora is flourishing upon rubber mats with other little drooling creatures. I am loving the connection to other "home during the weekday" moms. (I miss my friend Margie with little Noah...but we still hang sometimes).
And so it was today, on Noodle's 34th Friday in the world, that I took her blocks and my camera to a "Smoothie Playdate." A fabulous idea of Susans -- to create smoothies from fresh or frozen fruit, almond milk, protein powders...all whilst the babies clobber each other on the floor. I wanted rum to be added to mine but the scowl I received from many of the mamas...made me laugh as if I was joking (I was NOT joking...it was noon, after all).
No one minded me setting up my photo shoot in the midst of the chaos (15 moms and 15 babies). Most had heard of this weekly activity I do. It is amazing how quickly the time goes that I have between placing the blocks and Nora knocking them over.
This first shot is approximately .5 seconds after placement.
And it all ends in total tragedy. *WARNING* nap needed. It's 12:30. WE MUST GO.
Haha...OUR playdates will involve alcohol, my dear. I promise! And I've gotten the same scorn from my mom group when I've brought or suggested drinks. Bor-ring.
